Everything a field golden was meant to be

Boasting over 20 generations of hunting titles in his lineage and many notable dogs throughout his pedigree, all of which have been health tested, Ruger is one of the "driviest" goldens we have ever met! He is an extremely high drive dog, with an incredible off-switch and medium energy levels!

Ruger is not only our family pet but our "do everything" dog, since versatility is an important cornerstone to our program, this is a trait we are very happy with! He occasionally hunts upland game with us and our go-to shed hunting dog! Ruger loves any sport where he can challenge himself and is an absolute joy to work with, this guy never gives up and never quits, pushing through any problem he's faced with! He'll keep at a problem until it is solved and enjoys any type of work we throw at him. We call him our "unicorn dog," that "can do no wrong" dog that has been easy from day one, picks up every concept with ease, never chews, marks, barks, and can go anywhere!

Ruger is that once in a lifetime, perfect dog that we are so so grateful for! He is sweet, silly, good natured, stable minded, level headed and has SO much drive! He a lot of dog in a small body! He is a very high drive dog with an incredible work ethic, he loves any and all kinds of work and does not quit when he's set to a task. He is always up to try anything new and he LIVES to please, making him one of the most biddable dogs I have ever worked with! Despite his very high drive levels, when at home his off-switch kicks into gear and he becomes a couch potato- but don't let his lazy house mode fool you, he'll springboard off the couch at the drop of a dime if he hears someone say "bird." Always ready to work, always ready to succeed. He is overall our favorite family dog, knowing what we need of him when we need it. He is super tolerant with our wild children, loves playing dress-up, fetch, hide and go seek and walking with our young kids. His gentle demeanor makes him the ideal family pet!

Ruger hunts with us occasionally and is extremely birdy, with a natural grace and the stamina to keep at it all day long. He currently competes in barn hunting, dock diving, FCAT, disc, and is training in scent detection, agility, and rally! He is extremely fun to work with, very handler oriented and forgiving, he picks up new things quickly and is always willing to try anything asked of him.
